About Claudia Abbott
Over the years I have had many things that held my interest long enough to buy all the equipment and supplies and get pretty good at it then I would lose interest.
Photography is always changing. I never get tired of looking for a different light or the perfect angle. Most of the time I'm in a place where nobody knows me so it's not too embarrassing to lie in the mud to get the right reflection. My husband says that I lose all common sense when I have a camera in my hands. Well, he found me clinging on to a crooked fence post hanging over the North Sea in Scotland to photograph a sea stack. I'm making an effort to avoid those situations.
Over
We're now traveling in our RV about six months of the year photographing America and Canada.
-------------------
This summer I was commissioned to photograph the South Rim of the Grand Canyon for "Roughing It Smoothly", the Tiffin Motorhome company Magazine.
My husband Charlie and I were already planning a six month trip to Alaska in our motor home, so we added the Grand Canyon to our trip.
We spent nine amazing days on the South Rim. Because of the ever changing light in the canyon, you could stand in one spot and take a completely different photo each hour. I ended up taking 1,346 photos, got caught in two hail storms, lost two pounds hiking the South Kaibab Trail and had a great time!
